Breakfast & Lunch

Happy Tuesday y'all! I can't believe February is knocking on our door already! January was a great month but went by entirely to fast! FFF hubby and I are well into our challenge and we are getting quite competitive! I started my workouts again with our Biggest Loser Game for the Wii and it is kicking my butt!!! How in the world I did so many push-ups in the Army is beyond me!!! Ok so I was younger and more in shape-but wowzers!!!

Aside from that I've been getting e-mails with questions from y'all and thought I'd answer one of the questions. One of them said "Okay, so we know what you do for dinner but what about the other meals?" Wonderful question!!!

Cooking from Scratch (giveaway)

As you all know we are trying to live fast food free and it is doing wonders for our energy level as well as our waistlines and our bank accounts! For years I've had a cookbook sitting on my counter looking all pretty and decorative because, really, who needs cookbooks these days anyways? I mean all the convenient food options we have why do we need to cook from scratch? Before we started this journey I had cooked very few things from scratch and when I did I measured everything so carefully. My mom and my mother in law have both taught me a thing or two about cooking...I learned how to make tortillas from scratch from my MIL and my mom always has fresh bread baking and makes some of the best spaghetti sauce from scratch. I figured if they could cook from scratch so could I. Except it isn't as easy  as they make it look. You have to have a basic recipe to follow and thanks to them and my cookbook sitting there all pretty like I have been able to venture out on my own and make tons of yummy things...from scratch...on my own...and they taste delicious!!!!!

Things I Learned This Week (Linky Edition)

It's the end of another week y'all so that means it's time to see what I've learned over the past 7 days! When you're done reading laughing be sure to add a link to your post so we can see what you've learned as well!

  • You can use your crock pot in the oven
  • If you're crockpot lid has a plastic handle it SHOULD NOT go into the oven-we now have a crock pot lid with no handle.
  • Melted crockpot handles are a fabulous thing to lil' girls! Sassy Sis now has a Red lumpy jewel!
  • I can do cute hairstyle on the girls without it taking a ton of time! Thanks goes to Princess Hairstyles!
  •  Moose is now picky about the candy and treats he eats and is not much into chocolate anymore...does that mean he's growing up?
  • When we plan an outing with friends we can bet on FFF hubby having to work so we end up canceling said outing :(
  • Plastic handled crock pot lids SHOULD NOT be placed in oven on crockpot!!! Oh-wait...I said that! You think I would've known!!!
  • Even at the ripe ol' age of 31 I can have a blonde moment!!!
Like I said when you get done laughing be sure to link up!

Blessings

Stuff and Things

Hey y'all! I hope you are enjoying your Friday! As y'all know FFF Hubby and I are in a contest and so far so good! I'm back on track loosing weight and I'm going to win this!!! And y'all also know today is Nacho Friday in our house! I've been trying to figure out how to do this now that we're having 500 calorie dinners. I love my nachos and don't want to give them up and it's one of Moose's favorite dinners so here's the plan~the kids will have nachos and FFF hubby and I will enjoy eat a taco salad. Humph :( Of course I'm sure a nacho will somehow wind up in my mouth...seeing as how they're drawn to me by some unknown force! Kinda like those Hershey's Hugs last night...

500 Calorie Chicken Marsala?!

Happy Monday y'all! FFF hubby and I have challenged each other to see who can loose the most BMI between now and our anniversary vacation! He thinks he'll win because he has the most to lose...but you never know! We have decided to do the Slim-Fast 3-2-1 plan so that means I'm actually getting the calories my body needs and that's when I loose weight the best! I don't feel hungry ever and have been at a stand-still since I stopped eating properly. Since having Lil' Miss I have dropped 100+ pounds but have a few pesky ones left so I am all for this challenge!!

Nacho Friday!!!

TGIF!!! Every week we have Nacho Friday, watch movies and play games! I look forward to it all week for different reasons than the rest of The FFF Family! It's a night with minimal cooking (just the sausage and heating the cheese) and anytime someone gets hungry throughout the evening they can have more! FFF Hubby usually helps by cutting tomatoes and tasting the cheese-something he must do or so he says every week! We have all the toppings and everyone can pick what they like and make their own...well except for Lil' Miss but she does tell us what she wants. It's a stress free evening full of fun and Moose's friends like to come over for nachos and fun!

Thursday...no coffee? Good thing for surprises!

So today I woke up and couldn't get my coffee pot to work...at all! Sometimes it'll beep and then start but so far (at 10:30 am) it is still not working! It's a good thing the kiddos are all being fabulous today!!! I guess it's time to get a new coffee pot...but I love this one!! Oh well...maybe I'll make some tea!

Wordless Wednesday

Happy Wednesday all! We are linking up with Angry Julie Monday once again for Wordless Wednesday. We are a bit late posting because we had no power this morning and we are currently at 13" of snow and it is falling off and on!

Our family as snow girls and boys (as Sassy Sis says)

Mmmmmm...Did you say pizza?

As I said yesterday I love pizza on a cold day! So today I have chosen to share my recipe with you so you can enjoy home made pizza as well. I make the crust from scratch but you can always buy the premade ones if you don't have energy time to make them. As always remember these are the recipes my family enjoys but they are easily able to be tweaked to suit your families tastes. I hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

Pizza + Snow = Fabulous

Ok, so I know a lot of people enjoy soups and big dinners when it's cold and snowy out but I'm an anomaly and love pizza on days like today. It is by far the greatest thing in the whole world after playing in the snow all day! And the one thing that makes it so fabulous is making it from scratch!

Snow...finally!

The snow has started to fall outside...finally! As it nears dinner FFF Hubby is preparing left over homemade Mexican food for him and the girls. I am not a fan of leftovers so when I get hungry I'll whip up some oatmeal with walnuts and sliced bananas on top! Moose is at Grammy's for the weekend so I am sure he's getting some thing delicious and healthy...or just delicious!!

Things I learned this week...er month~ish :)

Hey y'all! Thank you for being so patient with me as we moved and were getting settled. I hope you had a fabulous holiday season!!! As I said on the FaceBook page it takes a bit to get stuff up and running out in the country. I have missed y'all (yes really) I find when I don't have you to hold me accountable then I allow us to slip a bit...So time for us to get back on track and time for you to join us! I have made some yummy things I will be sharing with you in the next week! But for now I will let you know try to remember all the things I've learned his past month and a half-ish!?!
  • How to make a yummy garlic chicken pizza
  • Even though Sassy sis never colored on anything but paper doesn't mean Lil' Miss will be the same
  • How to take crayon off of the floor (yes it took the 3rd kid for me to learn this!)
  • How to make home made bread-you know from scratch...
